Milford, Conn. – Led by a season-best performance from sophomore Victoria Gustafsson, the Long Island women's golf team finished sixth in a field of ten at the Sacred Heart Fall Classic on Sunday and Monday. Gustafsson finished tied for tenth in the field, carding an 82-78.
Junior Anna Palsson was once again the number two golfer for the Blackbirds, finishing in a tie for 20th and earning scores of 79-85. Palsson was followed by freshman Lizzie Stephens, who knocked in rounds of 83-88, good enough for a tie for 32nd.
Sophomore Linnea Jonsson finished out the event tied for 39th place, carding rounds of 85-90. Junior Julia Rappa rounded out the Long Island squad, ending day two in 42nd place, with scores of 91-86.
Yale took the number one team spot and also took the top four individual spots. Yale's Seo Hee Moon took the individual crown.
The Sacred Heart Fall Classic wraps up the fall slate for the Blackbirds, who will be back on the links come spring.
