New Haven, Conn. - Long Island University senior Anna Palsson led the women's golf team at the Yale Fall Intercollegiate match on Saturday and Sunday. Last year's Northeast Conference Champion, Palsson finished in a tie for 31st.
Palsson carded a 77-75-85 on the par-72 course. Freshman Brianna Maynard made a splash in her second collegiate outing, recording a 80-79-81 to land in a tie for 43rd. Classmate Alice Boothroyd also chipped in a strong performance, finishing in a tie of 51st after carding an 83-82-81. Senior Julia Rappa rounded out the slate for the Blackbirds, coming in a tie for 67th with scores of 84-84-88.
As a team, Long Island came in 11th, with the best score of all Northeast Conference schools at the event. Harvard took the top team spot with a combined score of 849.
The women's golf team has a few weeks off before competing at the Rutgers Invitational on Oct. 14-15.
