Brooklyn, N.Y. – LIU Brooklyn women's golfer Cristina Felip has been named the Northeast Conference Women's Golfer of the Month, as released by the conference on Wednesday. Felip, who joined the Blackbirds for the spring season, took home an individual title in her first collegiate outing.

At the Lonnie Barton Invitational, hosted by LIU, Felip finished day one in third place, shooting a 78. On the second day, Felip shot a 77 to seize the top spot. The Barcelona, Spain native's strong play helped the Blackbirds to the team title, ahead of NEC foes Sacred Heart, Central Connecticut State, Mount St. Mary's, Robert Morris and Saint Francis (Pa.).

The LIU Brooklyn women's golf team is back in action March 26-27 for the Richmond Spider Invitational in Midlothian, Va.
