Women's Golf Headed to Penn State for NCAA East Regional

The event, which takes place May 10-12, will feature top teams like Alabama, Arizona State, and Atlantic Coast Conference champions Duke. Eight teams and two individuals will advance from each regional to the championship final May 22-25.

LIU took the Northeast Conference title in comeback fashion, overcoming a nine-stroke deficit. In her first season as a Blackbird, freshman Cristina Felip secured the individual title after firing rounds of 73-70-72. Three other golfers shot under 80 on the final day: senior Anna Palsson, freshman Alice Boothroyd and freshman Brianna Maynard.

The win marks a successful season for the squad as well as first year head coach Natalie Desjardins, earning a pair of team tournament wins during the spring season at the Lonnie Barton Invitational and MU Hawk Invitational.
