First Round Results
PISCATAWAY, N.J. - Sophomore Marisol Doglioli continued her impressive play this fall season with an opening-round 76 to lead the LIU Brooklyn women's golf team on the first day of the Rutgers Invitational on Monday. As a team, the Blackbirds shot 314 and stand in sixth place out of 20 teams.
Doglioli tied with 12 other golfers for the tournament lead with three birdies through 18 holes, and also registered 10 pars to rank 18th out of 113 individuals competing in the event. The Aosta, Italy native, who finished tied for sixth at the St. John's Invitational last week, shot even-par overall on the par-3 holes - the fifth-best score on those holes in the field.
Teammate Cristina Felip, who is tied for 15th after finishing a shot behind Doglioli at 77, had 11 pars on her round to rank eighth in the category and played the par-4 holes at 4.13 stokes per hole to rank fifth individually.
Juniors Brianna Maynard and Alice Boothroyd shot 80 and 81, respectively, while sophomore Victoria Fagan and senior Cristina Reynoso each shot 84.
Delaware and Seton Hall each shot 302 to tie for the team lead after day one, while SHU's Erin McClure and Bridget Wilcox of Bucknell fired rounds of 73 to sit atop the leaderboard.
The second and final day of the Rutgers Invitational will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 15.
