First Round Results
NEPTUNE, N.J. - Led by a first-round 78 by freshman Marisol Doglioli, the LIU Brooklyn women's golf team stands atop the team leaderboard after the first 18 holes of the Hawk Invitational, held at the par-72 Jumping Brook Country Club. The Blackbirds shot 328 on day one and stand four strokes in front Siena.
Doglioli - one of four golfers in the field to record nine pars, and third in par-3 scoring at 3.25 - is tied for the individual lead with Fairleigh Dickinson's Monica Pena. The duo, each of whom carded three birdies on the day, is three strokes ahead of Victoria Nguyen of Siena, with LIU sophomore Cristina Felip a shot behind Nguyen at 82.
Felip finished her day with eight pars to tie for fourth best in the field, while classmate Brianna Maynard is tied for the tournament lead in par-5 scoring, and is tied for sixth individually at 83. Sophomore Alice Boothroyd shot 85 and is tied for 17th, while freshman Victoria Fagan rounded out the LIU competitors and is tied for 40th.
The second and final day of the Hawk Invitational will take place on Sunday, March 31.
