TENAFLY, N.J. - The LIU Brooklyn women's golf team defeated Ivy League competitor Columbia in a dual match on Friday morning. Sophomore Cristina Felip led the Blackbirds with a round of 77 to tie for the top score of the day, but lost to Jane Dong in a playoff for medalist honors. As a team, LIU Brooklyn shot 320 and nipped the Lions by two shots.
Freshman Marisol Doglioli also had a nice day for LIU, carding a 78 to finish a shot back of the individual title. Sophomores Brianna Maynard and Alice Boothroyd shot 82 and 82, respectively, while freshman Victoria Fagan closed with a 95.
The match was the final tune-up for the upcoming Northeast Conference Tournament in Daytona Beach, Fla. The three-day event will take place at the Legends Course at LPGA International.
