PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The LIU Brooklyn men's track and field team competed at the three-day Penn Relays which ended Saturday.
In the 400 meter hurdles, freshman Mica-Jonathan Petit-Homme represented the Blackbirds with his time of 53.34 for a 17-place finish out of 52 competitors.
In a three-way tie for eighth place, sophomore Kemar Lewis recorded a mark of 1.96m in the high jump. Long jumping his way to eighth place also, senior Brian Richards had a mark of 7.08m.
In the 4x400 meter relay, the team consisting of Richards, Petit-Homme, sophomore Andi Augustin, and senior Chris Welch recorded a time of 3:15.07 for 31st in a field of 69 teams.
The 4x800 meter relay team (Welch, senior Rogers Kipruto, senior Kenneth Wallace-Whitfield, and sophomore Elijah Taylor) completed the event in 7:53.65. This time was the season's best, beating the time set at the Metropolitan Championships (8:00.08).
The Blackbirds travel to host-school Monmouth to compete for the Northeast Conference Championship on Saturday, May 4.
