MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - The LIU Brooklyn men's track and field team completed competition at the Coastal Carolina Invite on Saturday afternoon.
The Blackbirds started out the day with a fourth place finish in the 4x100-meter relay. Darius Neely, Eric Williams, Kemar Lewis and Tyquan Dukes ran to a time of 42.66.
Mica-Jonathan Petit-Homme won the 400-meter dash in 48.00 with teammate Alistair McLean right behind in him in second in 48.40. McLean also placed fourth in the 400-meter hurdles in 54.61, while Adam Walker-Khan was sixth in 55.03.
Then in the 100-meter dash, Eric Williams was fifth in 10.86, while Neely was 11th in 10.99. In the 200-meter dash, Dannish Walker-Khan and Mikhail Williamson were seventh and eighth in 21.85 and 21.95, respectively.
In the final track event of the day, the 4x400, the Blackbird team of Andi Augustin, Dannish Walker-Khan, Petit-Homme and Williamson was only .01 seconds out of first place with their runner-up time of 3:14.07.
A trio of Blackbirds competed in the triple jump. Adam Walker-Khan was the top LIU finisher in third in 14.67m, while Amir Armstrong was 9th and Vinh Le placed 11th.
Up next, LIU Brooklyn competes at the Texas Relays in Austin, Texas from March 26-29.
