JERSEY CITY, N.J. - The LIU Brooklyn women's soccer team continues its non-conference season on Sunday afternoon with a match at Saint Peter's. Kickoff is scheduled for 12:00 p.m., and live video streaming will be available courtesy of SaintPetersPeacocks.com.
ABOUT LIU BROOKLYN
The Blackbirds suffered a home defeat to Harvard, one of the favorites to win the Ivy League this season, in their last time out on Sept. 21. Junior Jessica Montrose recorded six saves in the match while sophomore Jenn Peters had the first scoring opportunity of the game early on in the first half but could not convert. LIU closes out non-conference play on Wednesday, Oct. 1 at home against NJIT at 7:00 p.m.
ABOUT SAINT PETER'S
The Peacocks recently picked up their first win of the year in a Metroa Atlantic Athletic Conference contest against Canisius. St. Peter's earned a 3-1 win thanks in large part to Greta Vogel who scored three goals over a span of six minutes and 40 seconds in the second half. Most recently, SPU dropped a 3-0 decision to Delaware State on Sept. 24.
HISTORY
LIU owns a 5-1-0 lead in the all-time series between the two schools, including last season's 5-1 win in Jersey City. Peters and classmates Tori Shinkowitz and Chloe Amaradio found the back of the net for the Blackbirds, who have won five straight matches against the Peacocks dating back to 1998.
