Final Results
ELLINGTON, Conn. – The LIU Brooklyn men's golf team finished 9th of 16 teams at The Connecticut Cup, which was held at the Ellington Ridge Country Club in Ellington, Connecticut. The Blackbirds carded 304 in their final round of competition, just two strokes behind Longwood in 8th place.
Junior Rodrigo Munoz had the lowest score of the tournament for LIU, finishing at three-over par. Munoz shot the best round of the day for the Blackbirds and tied for 15th overall in a field of 90 golfers.
Just one shot back from Munoz is senior Stewart Gray at four-over par. Gray carded 220 for all three rounds, tying for 17th after having shot 75 for his final round.
Coming in tied at 63rd for LIU are junior Jake Spearpoint and freshman Daniel Reale, who both carded 233 for the tournament. Rounding out the Blackbirds is freshman George Helsby, tying for 79th after taking an impressive four shots off of his score from the second to the third round.
Texas Christian University won the tournament at 19-under par, followed by Dartmouth in second, who finished 17 strokes behind the Horned Frogs. Paul Barjon from TCU earned medalist honors, shooting 11-under par and set a tournament record.

This concludes the fall season for the Blackbirds, but the team will return to the course in the spring for its scheduled spring season tournaments.
