FLUSHING MEADOWS, N.Y. - In their first match back since spring break, the LIU Brooklyn women's tennis team beat Northeast Conference foe St. Francis Brooklyn handily Monday, 6-1. The lone St. Francis Brooklyn point was scored due to LIU injuries requiring a forfeit in the No.6 singles spot. The Blackbirds beat the Terriers handily, without dropping a single game all day long.

In doubles, Sanne Louwers and Marine Dans teamed up to beat Jennifer Gonzalez and De'Zhane Bennett, 8-0. Senior Nancy Zonneveld and freshman Juweria Hussain also had a shut-out in the No.2 doubles spot, beating Dragana Dzigurski and Jovana Bojinovic, 8-0. With the doubles point clinched, the Blackbirds withdrew from the No.3 doubles match.

LIU continued the domination in singles, as every player won in a straight set shutout. Louwers beat Gonzalez at No.1 singles, 6-0, 6-0, while Dans defeated Dzigurski at No.2, 6-0, 6-0. Sophomore Isabella Wagener beat Bennett at No.3, 6-0, 6-0, while Zonneveld downed Bojinovic, 6-0, 6-0. And Hussain rounded out the win, with a 6-0, 6-0 defeat of Jovana Ciric in the No.5 singles spot.
