Juweria Hussain has been named Northeast Conference Women's Tennis Rookie of the Week, it was announced by the conference office Tuesday.
Hussain won two the first three singles matches of her LIU Brooklyn career last week. In her collegiate debut on March 9, she outlasted Western Kentucky's Gabby Crofford, 6-1, 4-6, 10-8, in #6 singles action. Hussain, who hails from Dubai, also posted a 6-0, 6-0 victory at #5 singles against St. Francis Brooklyn on Monday in her first NEC matchup.
