Final Results
BEALLSVILLE, Md. - Senior Cristina Felip tied for second and led the LIU Brooklyn women's golf to team to a fifth place finish at the Georgetown Hoya Invitational on Tuesday afternoon at the Four Streams Golf Course.
The Blackbirds moved up one spot from yesterday, carding a 320, a 13-stroke improvement from the second round, to finish with 970 for the tournament. Georgetown, which led the entire tournament, won the team title with 941, followed by Marshall, Youngstown State and Fairleigh Dickinson.
Felip carded a four-over 76 in the final round, tying her for first with St. John's Anna Kim and Georgetown's Jacquelyn Eleey with a total of 230. Kim won the playoff on the third hole. The senior led the field in par-4 scoring and parred holes with 40.
Marisol Doglioli was next for the Blackbirds, moving up 11 spots from the second round to tie for 17th. Doglioli knocked off six strokes from the second round and shot a 78 for a total of 242. The junior parred 20 holes and was seventh in par-four scoring. Senior Brianna Maynard was six strokes behind with 248, and tied for 32nd. She birdied three holes for the tournament and had 28 pars.
Senior Alice Boothroyd and junior Victoria Fagan each improved in the third round. Boothroyd jumped six places to tie for 41st, making a six-stroke improvement in the final round to total 254. Fagan also was six strokes better during round three, and moved up four spots to finish 54 with 260.
The Blackbirds are right back in action on Thursday, when they compete at the Seton Hall Pirate Invitational from April 2-3 at the Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, N.J.
