BROOKLYN, N.Y. - Three members of the LIU Brooklyn softball team earned spots on the National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-Northeast Region teams, it was announced on Thursday. Senior Nicole Archer and sophomore Kylie Mulholland were named to the second team while freshman Victoria Zamora picked up third-team accolades.

Archer was a second-team selection at the Utility/Pitcher position as she was a key cog for the Blackbirds both at the plate and in the circle. A First Team All-Northeast Conference selection, Archer posted career highs in batting average (.275), hits (38), doubles (6) and runs batted in (32) while matching her career-best output in home runs with eight. The Coral Springs, Fla., native also earned a team-high nine wins as a pitcher including six over the final three weeks of the season to help LIU advance to the NEC Tournament title round for the fourth straight year.

In her first season with the Blackbirds, Mulholland put together an impressive all-around season. Seeing action at catcher, shortstop, third base and in the outfield, Mulholland was selected to the second team as a Utility/Non-Pitcher after hitting .276 with 10 doubles, four home runs and 17 RBIs. The Sewell, N.J., product came on strong down the stretch, compiling a .333 batting average over the final 11 contests of the year with three home runs and 10 runs batted in.

The NEC Rookie of the Year in 2015, Zamora earns a spot as the third-team catcher after becoming the first LIU Brooklyn player to earn league Rookie of the Year honors since fellow catcher and California native Jessie DePippo was bestowed the honor in 2004. Zamora batted .306 with six home runs, 25 RBIs and posted a .453 on-base percentage to rank first on the team and in the NEC. Zamora also stole 11 bases to rank third in the conference and was an All-NEC Second Team honoree.
