2015 NEC All-Conference Teams

BROOKLYN, N.Y. - Seven members of the LIU Brooklyn men's track and field team earned All-Northeast Conference individual honors, it was announced by the league on Thursday. 

The Blackbirds placed second at the NEC Championships earlier in May, scoring 161 points. LIU Brooklyn also won the IC4A Championships two weeks ago. 

Senior Brendon Rodney, the meet's Most Valuable Performer was a double All-NEC First Team earner, after claiming victory and setting meet records in both the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes. Also named to the first team in track events were Alistair McLean and Mica-Jonathan Petit-Homme. McLean won the 400-meter dash in a time of 47.97, while Petit-Homme earned the gold in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 52.85. McLean, the Most Valuable Track Performer, earned Second Team honors in the 400 hurdles as well, while junior Tyquan Dukes was a Second Team selection in the 100-meter dash.

Kemar Lewis was named to the First Team for the high jump, coming in first with a mark of 2.04m. Sophomore Adam Walker-Khan was LIU's other double-winner, placing first in the long jump at 7.27m and the triple jump at 15.35. Amir Armstrong was named to the Second Team for the triple jump after placing second right behind Walker-Khan.

The Blackbirds 4x400 and 4x100 relay teams both earned spots on the First Team, after both claimed gold by nearly two seconds.

Up next, six individuals and two relays will compete in the NCAA East Regional, held in Jacksonville, Florida, beginning this Thursday afternoon.
