BROOKLYN, N.Y. - The LIU Brooklyn men's soccer team took Saint Joseph's to double overtime on Sunday night before falling, 3-2, in the 103rd minute. Freshman Rasmus Hansen scored a pair of goals while sophomore Cole Palmer registered seven saves in defeat.

Palmer made the first save of the game for the Blackbirds early in the 8th minute, stopping Saint Joseph's Kevin Lockhart's shot. It was freshman Christoffer Solbakken who would make the first offensive move for LIU, but his shot was blocked by the Hawks defense later in the 8th minute.

In the 19th minute, freshman Simen Hestnes got the ball to fellow freshman Rasmus Hansen who found the back of the net, beating the Hawks keeper Bobby Edwards to his right for Hansen's third goal of the season. St. Joe's would answer with a header goal off of a corner kick for the equalizer in the 35th minute. The score would remain 1-1 going into the second half.

In the 51st minute, Hansen scored his second goal of the night off of a free kick from just outside the box that hit the top right corner of the goal. Palmer made two saves in the 56th and 57th minutes, keeping the Blackbirds ahead, 2-1.

St. Joseph's knotted the score in the 74th minute when a corner kick found the Hawks' Emmanuel Temeh for a header goal. Solbakken got another shot off in the 90th minute for the Balckbirds, but was saved by the keeper to extend the contest into overtime.

LIU Brooklyn's defense kept the Hawks at bay in the first overtime, with Palmer making two saves in the 92nd and 98th minutes, but in the 103rd minute, Temeh would score to give St. Joseph's its first victory of the season.
