LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) announced earlier this month that 5,152 softball players across seven membership divisions earned NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete honors for the 2015-16 academic year.
Defending Northeast Conference champion LIU Brooklyn was named one of the Division I All-Academic teams, with a team GPA of 3.306, while eight Blackbirds were honored for their individual success in the classroom. Amanda Domingo, Ashley Sandoval-Colon, Karlie Brady, Patricia Griffin, Shelley Procter, Tallie Woodson, Victoria Zamora and Whitney West were each recognized as Easton/NFCA Division I Scholar Athletes.
In order to be eligible, student-athletes must have earned a 3.5 grade-point average or higher for the academic year. NCAA Division I, with 1,240 honorees, had the most among the seven divisions.
