HASTINGS-ON-HUDSON, N.Y.- LIU Brooklyn women's golf competed in the first round of the St. John's Invitational at St. Andrew's Golf Club on Monday.

The Blackbirds finished the day in third place shooting a team score of 329. St. John's leads the five-team field with a 308.

LIU was led by freshman Carolina Ronchel who finished the day eight-over, 80.

Two strokes behind Ronchel were freshman Rebeca Pardos and sophomore Sara Ciliberto, who completed the round tied for 14th.

Junior Lauren Rutherglen (85) and freshman Aida Gonzalez (86) rounded out the Blackbirds scoring finishing 19th and 20th respectively.

LIU Brooklyn concludes the two-day tournament at St. Andrew's tomorrow.
