BROOKLYN, N.Y.- LIU Brooklyn women's soccer concludes the 2016 season Friday, October 28, when it travels to Fairleigh Dickinson University to face off against the Knights. Kickoff is slated for 7:00 p.m.
Last Time Out:
LIU fell to Sacred Heart University, 1-0, at home on senior day Sunday afternoon. The Blackbirds dropped to 2-14-0, 1-6-0 NEC with the loss.
Senior Madison Gomez led LIU with two shots. Sophomore keeper Aline Allmann made four saves, and junior keeper Erin Harbison made three stops.
The Fairleigh Dickinson series:
The Blackbirds are 12-7 all-time against the Knights. FDU won the last meeting, 3-0, on Oct. 16, 2015.
Scouting the Knights:
Fairleigh Dickinson (6-10-1, 4-1-1 NEC), who is currently tied for second in the Northeast Conference standings, is coming off a 2-0 defeat of CCSU. Sophomore Jessi Reinhardt and freshman Stasi Torchia scored for the Knights in the win, while freshman goalie Amanda Fitzgerald made four saves.
Sophomore Elma Kolenovic leads FDU with 14 points (six goals and two assists), while Reinhardt is second on the team with 13 points (four goals and five assists).
Fitzgerald enters the match with a 5-10-1 record, a 2.25 goals against average, a .732 save percentage, and three shutouts.
