BROOKLYN, N.Y. - The LIU Brooklyn field hockey team will wrap up its inaugural season on the road this weekend, heading north to take on two finals teams. The Blackbirds will wrap up MAAC play at Fairfield, Saturday, October 29 at 1 p.m., before facing off against New York City foe Columbia, Sunday, October 30 at 2 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
In their final home weekend, the Blackbirds dropped two MAAC contests, falling to Rider, 9-0, and Sacred Heart, 2-0.
SCOUTING THE STAGS
Fairfield enters the weekend at 5-12 overall, and 3-2 in the MAAC. Last weekend, they split play, losing to Monmouth, 2-0, before rallying to beat Sacred Heart, 7-1. Senior forward Ann Burgoyne has 10 goals and six assists this season to lead the Stags.
SCOUTING THE LIONS
Columbia, who will face off with Yale on the road Saturday, currently stands at 7-7 overall, and 2-3 in the Ivy League. After dropping three straight losses to #12 Princeton (6-0), at Penn (4-1) and against Bucknell (4-3), the Lions bounced back with a 5-1 win over Dartmouth last weekend. Columbia is led by senior forward Katie Ruesterholz, who has 12 goals and six assists this season, and recently became the program's all-time leading point scorer.
