FAIRFIELD, Conn. - The LIU Brooklyn field hockey team fell to MAAC foe Fairfield Saturday afternoon on the road, dropping a 10-0 decision to the Stags. Fairfield scored five goals in each half to beat the Blackbirds.
The Stags started scoring early, notching two goals int he first two minutes of play. Fairfield's Emma Clark would score the next two goals for the home team, and a goal at 18:44 was the final in the first half.
Fairfield added five more goals in the second half to cement the win, improving to 7-12 this season, and 4-2 in the MAAC.
Freshmen Lydia Trout and Casey Carrigan each had shots on goal for the Blackbirds, while Anna Bauer led the attack with three shots in the loss. Freshman goalie Molly Jannell had 11 saves in 44 minutes of action, while Haley Ballard had a defensive save for LIU.
