BROOKLYN, N.Y.-For the 10th consecutive year, LIU Brooklyn women's soccer was named a National Soccer Coaches Association of America College Team Academic Award winner.
The NSCAA annually recognizes college and high school soccer programs that have excelled in the classroom, in addition to their work on the field. A total of 892 soccer teams (314 men, 578 women) posted a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher, thereby earning the NSCAA College Team Academic Award for the 2015-16 academic year.
LIU Brooklyn was one of 222 schools that earned the honor for both its men's and women's soccer teams.
The Blackbirds recorded a 3.46 GPA under head coach Scott McLaughlin. It is the 16th time in the past 17 years the team has been recognized by the NSCAA for their achievements in the classroom.
