Brianna Farris led LIU with ten points.
The Bulldogs jumped out to an early lead in the first quarter, scoring eight points before the Blackbirds would get on the board, and led wire-to-wire. Freshman
Gabrielle Caponegro hit back-to-back jump shots to get LIU on the board, and cut the lead to 8-4 at 5:52. Freshman
Aja Boyd would hit a layup in the last 30 seconds of the quarter, and Yale led, 18-11.
A 9-2 run for the Bulldogs in the second quarter widened the gap to 16 points, the biggest lead of the game thus far, 32-16 with 4:32 to play. Redshirt sophomore
Drew Winter hit a jumper 10 seconds later to help put a dent in the gap, but the visiting team took a 15-point lead into the break, 35-20.
Yale's scoring sprees continued into the second half. The Bulldogs opened the third quarter on an 11-5 run, going 5-for-6 from the field. Freshman
Victoria Powell would break the spree with a layup at 5:58, but two turnovers over the next two minutes were converting to six points for the visitors, and Yale widened the lead to 52-27 with 3:24 to play in quarter three.
As the third quarter ended, and the fourth started, LIU began to make some headway, going on a run of its own. Senior
Brianna Farris scored eight straight points, including back-to-back three pointers, as a part of a 10-3 run that would cut the lead to 57-39 at the 7:52 mark. But another Yale run in the final three minutes of action, this time consisting of nine unanswered points, put the Bulldogs up, 75-43, en route to a 75-44 win just one minute later.

- LIU struggled with shooting, with a 26.8 percent average as a team, including 22.2 percent from three-point range.
- The Bulldogs outscored LIU in the paint, 28-16, and out-rebounded the Blackbirds, 37-26.
