BROOKLYN, N.Y. – The Blackbirds will head to Raleigh, North Carolina this weekend to compete in the Raleigh Relays hosted by North Carolina State on Friday, March 25 and Saturday, March 26.
LAST TIME OUT
LIU took home two first place finishes in the 200m dash. Cassandra Jones set a new personal record in the event with her time of 24.52, while junior Delano Davis crossed the line at 21.41, also setting a personal best in the event. The men's 4x100 team of Cue, Davis, Dukes and freshman Caleb Williams took first with a time of 40.25. In field action, junior Jahphan Lupuku took second in the long jump, jumping 6.38m.
BACK IN ACTION
It has been three years since the Blackbirds have taken part in the Raleigh Relays. A sophomore at the time, Rodney was a member of the 4x100m relay team that took second place, alongside LIU track alumni Nickolei Mahlung, Brian Richards, and Mikhail Williamson, crossing the line at 40.26. In the 400m hurdles, Alistair McLean took 18th in his second season as a Blackbird with his time of 54.40. In his inaugural outdoor season at LIU, Mica-Jonathan Petit-Homme clocked 49.16 in his first attempt at the 400m dash.

LIU track and field will make its way down to Gainesville, Florida for the Pepsi Florida Relays hosted by The University of Florida. Competition is set to take place on Thursday, March 31 through Sunday, April 2.
