BROOKLYN, N.Y. – The LIU Brooklyn track and field teams head to Gainesville, Florida for the Pepsi Florida Relays taking place Thursday, March 31 through Saturday, April 2.
LAST TIME OUT
With a time of 3:08.13, the men's 4x400m relay team clinched LIU's first and only gold finish at the Raleigh Relays. Mica-Jonathan Petit-Homme placed second in the 400m hurdles, crossing the line at 51.32 for his best finish so far this season, which earned the senior the Northeast Conference Men's Track Athlete of the Week honor. Gabriella Ade-Onojobi recorded a new personal best, shaving 0.16 seconds off of her 100m hurdles time from last season to post 14.00 in the event. Cassandra Jones set a personal best in her 400m sprint, placing fourth in the field with her time of 55.53 and earned her first NEC Women's Track Athlete of the Week award for the outdoor season.
AT THE RELAYS
Last season at the Florida Relays, Brendon Rodney set his personal best in the 200m, finishing second overall with his time of 20.27 and broke his previous mark of 20.41 set in 2014. Petit-Homme placed 12th in the 400m hurdles last season clocking 51.20, which was the top mark in the Northeast Conference at the time.

The Blackbirds are set to compete at M.E.T.R.O. Championships in Piscataway, N.J. The meet, hosted by Rutgers University, is scheduled to take place on Friday, April 8 and Saturday, April 9.
