Penn Relay Results
PHILADEPHIA, P.A. - The LIU Brooklyn track and field teams are in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania this weekend competing in the prestigious Penn Relays. Senior Kyaira Wright-Harmon kicked off the meet for the Blackbirds on a high note, taking gold in the talent-heavy women's college high jump.
Taking first in a highly competitive field of 34 athletes, Wright-Harmon recorded a season best in the high jump at the Penn Relays with a mark of 1.75m to win the title.
The women placed third in the final heat of the college women's 4x100m relay. The team of Anise Cuffee, Gabriella Ade-Onojobi, Cemorne Baugh, Shantae McDonald clinched third overall with a time of 46.39.
Cuffee, Ade-Onojobi, Baugh and Stephanie Aidoo went on to finish 11th in the college 4x200m relay, crossing the finish line in 1:38.65.
On the men's side, the 4x100m relay team of Caleb Williams, Brendon Rodney, Delano Davis and Tyler Cue had the tenth best time of 40.74 in the preliminary heats on Friday afternoon, allowing them to advance to the men's college 4x100m relay final heat on Saturday.
Meanwhile in the men's 4x200m relay, Airrin Davis, Karl Cajuste, Williams and Alistair McLean posted the sixth fastest in the preliminaries, which will give them an opportunity to vie for the title on Saturday.
Also recording the sixth best time on Friday was the 4x400m relay team of Cue, Rodney, Mica-Jonathan Petit-Homme and DeShawn Bunion, clocking 3:10.62 in the event and will also compete in Saturday's finals heat.
