TOWSON, Md. - The LIU Brooklyn field hockey team continues its swing away from downtown Brooklyn to start its inaugural season with a matchup against Towson on Sunday, Sept. 18. The contest will start at 1:00 p.m., and can be watched via TowsonTigers.com.
The Blackbirds (0-3) are coming off a road loss at Penn on Sept. 9, while the Tigers have dropped six of their first seven matches to start the year. Freshman Haley Ballard had a pair of defensive saves for LIU against the Quakers, while Casey Carrigan and Skai Sprenkle are tied for the team lead with a goal apiece.
Towson most recently dropped a 2-0 decision to Lafayette on Sept. 16. Four of the Tigers' six losses this season have been by two goals or less. The lone win in 2016 was an overtime victory over La Salle, 2-1. Sabrina Davis scored the game winner and is tied for the team lead in goals this year with two others.
