SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - The LIU Brooklyn field hockey team suffered a loss to UC Davis in its final contest in Missouri on Sunday afternoon. Freshmen goalkeepers Shelley Drucker and
Molly Jannell combined for seven saves in a 10-0 loss to the Aggies.
UC Davis scored four goals and held an impressive 15-0 advantage in shots in the opening half. The Blackbirds did have a pair of penalty corners in the stanza, but were unable to convert on either. Both of the opportunities came in succession and were taken by freshman
Brooke McGinley.
The Aggies finished the match with six more goals in the second half. Kathleen Humphries had a hat trick with three goals while Lauren Copeland and Agustina Singh each had a pair. Beth Lee and Chelsea Bigelow combined on the shutout in goal for UC Davis.
LIU Brooklyn returns east to take on Villanova in a road contest on Sunday, Oct. 2. The match is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m.
