VILLANOVA, Pa. - For the second time this season, the LIU Brooklyn field hockey team will take on a team from the Philadelphia area as it travels to the City of Brotherly Love to take on Villanova on Sunday afternoon.
The Blackbirds are coming off a tough trip to Missouri that saw them drop all three matches they contested. On the season, freshmen Madi Cook, Skai Sprenkle and Casey Carrigan are all tied for the team lead with a goal apiece, while classmates Molly Jannell and Shelly Drucker have split time in goal.
Coming off a 3-0 victory over Towson in its most recent outing, Villanova enters with a 2-8 record overall. The Wildcats outshot the Tigers, 38-2, in the contest with Abby Siana registering a team-high nine. Siana, Francesca Bello and Emma McLaughlin each had a goal in the match while Erika Miller recorded one save for her first shutout of the year.
