BROOKLYN, N.Y. - The LIU Brooklyn volleyball team (4-11, 1-1 Northeast Conference) will head one mile down Fulton Street this weekend, to take on local foe St. Francis Brooklyn (6-12, 1-1 NEC), in a battle for Brooklyn bragging rights, Saturday, October 1 at 1 p.m.
SCOUTING THE TERRIERS
SFBK stands at 6-12 this season, and 1-1 in NEC action so far. Last weekend, the Terriers fell to Sacred Heart, 3-1, before rallying to beat Fairleigh Dickinson Sunday, 3-2.
Junior outside Alessandra Gligoric leads the Terriers with a 2.67 kills per set average, and 139 total kills so far this season. Freshman middle blocker Sidney Benson is proving to be one of the top blockers in the league. The reigning NEC Rookie of the week, Benson is fourth in the conference, with a 1.03 blocks per set average so far this year.
