CHARLESTON, S.C.- LIU Brooklyn Women's soccer fell to The Citadel, 2-0, Sunday afternoon at WLI Field. The Blackbirds drop to 0-5-0 in the loss.
Mady Riegel opened the scoring in the first half and Ilana Green added an insurance tally in the second frame for the Bulldogs.
The Citadel (3-0-0) created the majority of chances in the first stanza, outshooting LIU Brooklyn 12-4. Sophomore keeper

The Bulldogs opened the second half looking for insurance. Samara Nche walked in and fired a shot that was denied by Allmann in the 48th minute.
The Blackbirds came back with a pair of chances to knot the score in the 62nd and 63rd minutes. First, Peters sent a shot that was denied by The Citadel's keeper Logan Leask. On the ensuing corner kick, sophomore
Marian Awad won a ball in the box and her attempt was stopped by The Citadel's keeper.
LIU Brooklyn came back with consecutive chances five minutes later; senior
Madison Gomez rang a shot off the crossbar. Then Peters, who led the Blackbirds with six shots, hit the post with a try.
The Citadel, which outshot LIU Brooklyn 26-16 in the match, added a goal by Green to make it 2-0 in the 80th minute.
LIU Brooklyn returns to action on Sunday, Sept. 11 when it heads to Siena to take on the Saints. Kickoff is slated for 1:00 p.m.
