BROOKLYN, N.Y. – The LIU Brooklyn men's soccer team moved to 3-0 in the Northeast Conference Friday night, with their 2-1 defeat over Saint Francis University. Junior

Naeem Charles scored the two goals for the Blackbirds in the win.
SFU had an early push on offense, taking two good shots in the 12
th and 15
th minute, but freshman
Anthony Sciola was there to save both, including a strong one on one stop in the middle of the box. The first half was winding down with neither team having scored, when LIU finally got on the board.
With seven seconds left on the clock, junior Filip Nordstrom crossed the ball from the right side, and found classmate
Rasmus Hansen in the middle of the box through traffic. Hansen fired the ball to the left corner of the Red Flash goal past the keeper, and LIU led, 1-0.
SFU would even the score in the second half, scoring a goal in the 62
nd minute to make it 1-1. But just six minutes later,
Naeem Charles would score the game-winning goal. The senior fired a shot from the top of the right corner of the 18, and it rocketed across the box into the top left corner of the goal, putting LIU on top, 2-1.
SFU would push the offense in the final minutes of the game, but the Blackbirds held on, and took the win, 2-1. With the victory, LIU improves to 4-6-2, and 3-0 in the NEC.
