BROOKLYN, N.Y. - LIU Brooklyn women's tennis junior Anna Grigoryan has earned her second Northeast Conference Player of the Month nod in as many months, it was announced by the league office Tuesday afternoon.
Grigoryan made it back-to-back NEC Player of the Month honors after advancing to the quarterfinals of the ITA Regional Championships earlier this month. Along the way, the reigning NEC Player of the Year knocked off three Ivy League opponents, highlighted by a 6-3, 6-1 win over #3 seed Alyza Benotto of Brown, a three-time All-Ivy performer. She also beat Yale's Amy Yang (6-1, 6-1) and Cornell's Priyanka Shah (0-6, 6-2, 6-4) before falling 6-4, 7-6 (3) to eventual finalist Stephanie Schrage of Princeton.
The Blackbirds wrapped up fall play at the ITA Regionals, and will begin the traditional season in February of 2018.
