BROOKLYN, N.Y. – The LIU Brooklyn field hockey team resumes Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play this weekend, traveling to Lawrenceville, N.J., to take on Rider, Sunday, October 8 at 12 p.m.

SCOUTING THE BRONCS
Rider comes into the weekend at 5-6 overall, and 0-1 in the MAAC. The Broncs beat Georgetown, 3-0, earlier this season, and also have wins over Saint Francis U and Colgate. But most recently, Rider fell to LaSalle, 3-2. The Broncs lost their MAAC opener last week, falling in a 1-0 decision to Bryant.
Senior forward Allison Baligian is the team's leading point scorer, with five goals and three assists, followed closely by freshman defender Eline De Jong, who has four goals and three assists. Senior forward Shannon Hughes tops the team with six assists so far this year.
Freshman goalie Lena Vandam has accumulated a 1.55 goals-against average, a .788 save percentage and 63 saves. She has posted three shutouts, and had three games with 10 saves or more.
