BROOKLYN, N.Y. --- The LIU Brooklyn women's basketball team will host Saint Peter's University in its first home game of the 2017-18 season Tuesday evening at the Steinberg Wellness Center.

- A victory for the Blackbirds would be its first in a Brooklyn debut since November 25, 2011 when LIU defeated Charlotte, 81-72, in the first game of the Courtyard LaGuardia Turkey Classic.
- Graduate student Denisha Petty-Evans shined bright in her LIU debut, leading the Blackbirds with 13 points in the team's 62-51 season-opening loss to Yale in New Haven, Conn. on November 10. The veteran guard shot 50 percent from the floor (6-for-12) and added four rebounds, three assists and one steal.
- Other notable performances from LIU's last game at Yale: freshman Jeydah Johnson was the only first-year newcomer to break the starting lineup and she contributed nine points on a game-high three three-pointers in 28 minutes...redshirt junior Drew Winter was all over the stat sheet, logging four or more four different categories - rebounds (9), points (7), steals (4), and assists (5)...senior DeAngelique Waithe scored in double figures (11) for the first time since 2016 (13 vs Bryant, February 27)...freshman Tia Montagne led all reserves in minutes (20) and scored four points off the bench.
- Saint Peter's enters tonight's matchup with a 1-1 record after a road loss to Seton Hall (91-49) and a home win over mutual opponent Lafayette (64-61). The Peacocks are led by D'Aviyon Magazine (9.5 PPG), Sajanna Bethea (8.0 RPG) and Talah Hughes (3.5 APG).
- SPU holds a 7-1 edge over LIU in the all-time series, but the Blackbirds won the team's last contest, a 64-60 home opening win on November 19, 2008.
