BROOKLYN, N.Y. --- After outstanding performances in a pair of games last week, graduate transfer Denisha Petty-Evans and freshman Jeydah Johnson combined to give the LIU Brooklyn women's basketball team three individual awards Monday afternoon.

Petty-Evans was selected as both the Northeast Conference & College Sports Madness Player of the Week while Johnson was tabbed as the NEC Rookie of the Week.

Petty-Evans averaged 22.0 points, 7.0 rebounds and 2.0 steals per game in a pair of victories over Saint Peter's and UMBC last week. In her home debut against SPU, the New Jersey native scored 18 points, grabbed four boards, and swiped three steals. Against UMBC, she exploded for a career-high 26 points on 50 percent (8-for-16) shooting, hit a career-best six three-pointers, and logged his first-ever double-double with 10 rebounds.

Johnson put up 19.5 points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game in LIU's two wins. The newcomer put up the first two double-figure scoring efforts of her career - 17 points vs. the Peacocks and 22 in the Maryland native's first trip to the state against the Retrievers. Johnson added five rebounds, two steals and three triples against SPU and six rebounds, four three-pointers, a steal and an assist against UMBC.

Together, Petty-Evans (19.0 PPG) and Johnson (16.0 PPG) - the top two scorers in the NEC - have finished 1-2 in scoring for LIU in each of the team's first three contests.

The duo will lead the Blackbirds in their next matchup at Army West Point Monday evening at 7 p.m.
