BROOKLYN, N.Y. --- The LIU Brooklyn women's basketball team will look to bounce back from a loss in its last game when the Blackbirds face the Lafayette Leopards in Easton Saturday afternoon.

- LIU fell to 2-2 on the year with a 71-37 loss to Army West Point on November 20.
- Graduate transfer Denisha Petty-Evans and freshman Jeydah Johnson were named Northeast Conference Player and Rookie of the Week prior to the Blackbirds' game against Army. Petty-Evans averaged 22 points, 7 rebounds a 2 steals per game in LIU's wins against Saint Peter's and UMBC while Johnson put up averages of 19.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 1.5 steals. Petty-Evans remains the conference leader in points (17.0 PPG) while Johnson is in the top 5 (15.0 PPG; 4th).
- Along with leading the league in scoring so far, LIU also has the NEC's top rebounder (DeAngelique Waithe - 8.5 RPG) and leader assister (Drew Winter - 5.0 APG).
- A major key to LIU's good start has been its ability to take care of the basketball. In its two wins, the Blackbirds have combined for 26 assists (13.0/gm) and 23 turnovers (11.5/gm). By contrast, LIU has averaged 7.5 assists and 22.0 turnovers in its two losses.
- Lafayette is 1-3 heading into Saturday game after winning its last outing, a 60-45 victory over Rider in Easton on November 21. LIU is 3-1 all-time vs. the Leopards and has won the teams' last two meetings, including a 64-59 home win on November 17, 2010.
- Lafayette is led by Anna Ptasinski (14.0 PPG), Natalie Kucowski (11.0 RPG), and Sammy Stipa (15 assists, 3.8 APG).
