MEET RESULTS
BROOKLYN, N.Y.- In the team's final home meet of the fall, the LIU Brooklyn women's swimming team was defeated by Saint Francis University in a Northeast Conference dual meet at LIU Pool, 159-82, Saturday.
The Blackbirds led off the meet by taking the top spot in the 200 medley relay, with the team of freshman Jeanne Touchette-McGowan, junior Milly Furneaux, freshman Kyleigh Barao and junior Briana Vega winning with a time of 1:51.09. Sophomore Noemie Lacroix-Moreau had the lone LIU individual win, with a 2:12.43 in the 200 butterfly. She also swam the 100 freestyle and swam a leg of the 200 freestyle relay, which came in second place.
Touchette-McGowan had three individual runner-up finishes, coming in second in the 200 freestyle, the 200 backstroke and in the 200 individual medley. Also slotting second was junior Nathalie Meyers in the 100 backstroke, freshmen Avery Vernon in the 200 breaststroke, and Amanda Peren in the 100 butterfly. Peren also came in third in the 1000 free, with a time of 11:10.07, in her first time competing at that distance as a collegiate student-athlete.

The Blackbirds will head to the Rutgers Invitational in two weeks, November 16-18 in Piscataway, NJ in what will be a great test of the team's progress this season. The ECAC Championships will follow after that as well. LIU will not return to dual meets until mid-January following the holiday break.
