BROOKLYN, N.Y. --- The LIU Brooklyn women's basketball team will play the first of its last three home games of 2017 on Saturday with a matchup against Manhattan.

- The Blackbirds bounced back from a three-point overtime road loss at George Mason with a three-point victory over Lehigh Sunday. The win was the first in six games for the Blackbirds at the Barclays Center since 2012.
- LIU is led by graduate transfer Denisha Petty-Evans (16.7 ppg), freshman Jeydah Johnson (13.9 ppg), redshirt junior Drew Winter (5.2 apg) and senior DeAngelique Waithe (7.8 rpg). - Johnson was named NEC Rookie of the Week for the second time Monday after she logged averages of 20.0 ppg, 5.0 rpg, 3.0 spg, and a three-point shooting rate of 55.6 percent (10-of-18) in two games against Mason and Lehigh. Her efforts included a team season-high 27 points with eight threes against Mason.
- Manhattan has lost five of six games since earning its first win against NEC member St. Francis Brooklyn on November 18 and four straight after its second win over Coppin State on November 25.
- The Jaspers are led by Kayla Grimme (15.6 ppg, 8.6 rpg) and Amani Tatum (5.0 apg).
- LIU holds a 4-1 edge over Manhattan in the all-time series, having won the teams' last two meetings. The two squads haven't met since a 76-63 win nearly 20 years to the date of Saturday's game (12/15/96).
