DAYTONA BEACH, FLA. --- The LIU Brooklyn men's golf team shot a combined 326 to settle into ninth place after the first round of the Lonnie Barton Invitational Monday afternoon at the LPGA International Hills Course.
Sophomore Daniel Reale shot a team-best 80 (+8) to go into Tuesday's final round tied for 29th place. The remaining four Blackbirds on the course recorded scores within a stroke of each other: Kyle Maihi (81, +9, T37th), George Helsby (82, +10, T47th), Jake Spearpoint (83, +11, T51st) and Victor Aronsson (83, +11, T51st).
Senior Rodrigo Munoz, playing as an individual at the tournament, carded a 73 (+1) to end the day in a four-way tie for first place. Though it won't count towards official tallies, Munoz's round matches the second-lowest total he has produced this year in the first two tournaments of the season.
The final 18 holes of the event will resume on Tuesday.
