Men's Track & Field | Apr 01 | Track Completes Runs At Florida, Texas Relays Story Links Texas Relays Results Florida Relays Results BROOKLYN, N.Y. --- Over the past several days, a number of LIU Brooklyn track and field athletes have been away competing at two of the most competitive meets in the country - the Pepsi Florida Relays and the Texas Relays. Here is a complete review of the Blackbirds' performances in the Lone Star & Sunshine States. Most of the team was sent to Austin for the 90th edition of the Longhorns' meet. The top Blackbird performance came from junior Kareem Roberts, who finished tied for second place in the high jump with a leap of 7-0.50 (2.15m). Roberts was the only one of the three competitors to reach the mark on his first attempt. Sophomore Shantae McDonald recorded to best performance by a Blackbird woman at the event with a 31st place showing in the 100 Meter Hurdles, finishing in 14.06. LIU sent a small contingent to the Florida Relays, placing a quartet in both the 4x100 and 4x400 relay events. The group of sophomore DeShawn Bunion, freshman Kwesi Henderson, sophomore Logan Jones, and senior Garvey Moore placed 22nd in the prelims of the 4x400 (3:16.41) while Henderson, Moore, freshman Sean Sinclair and sophomore Kobe White ran a 42.21 in the 4x100. NEXT UP The teams will be back in full force on Friday, April 7 for the start of the M.E.T.R.O. Championships at Rutgers University in Piscataway, N.J.
