STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – The LIU Brooklyn baseball team was shutout at RCB Park Sunday afternoon, falling to Wagner, 12-0, to split the four game series with the Seahawks.
Wagner starter Danny March pitched 8.0 shutout innings, striking out 11 Blackbirds and giving up just six hits. One of those hits came right at the start, when senior
Charles Misiano had a lead off single to get the game started for LIU. Misiano would finish the game hitting 2-for-4, but was left on base both times.
The Seahawks got on the board in the bottom of the second inning with a lead off home run and an RBI double, 2-0. Three more runs came in the bottom of the third on a two-RBI triple and an RBI single to make it 5-0. One more run was scored in the bottom of the fourth, but then the Blackbirds would hold Wagner scoreless for three innings.
The home team took the game for good in the bottom of the seventh, scoring six runs on five hits and four walks, to take the 12-0 lead.

Jackson Svete (5-2) had the loss for LIU on the mound.
Up next, the Blackbirds take on two straight non-conference opponents. LIU will travel to take on Army, Wednesday, May 3 at 6 p.m., before heading to the Bronx to face off with Fordham next weekend in three games, May 5 through 7.
