BROOKLYN, N.Y. --- LIU Brooklyn Women's Soccer released its 2017 schedule Wednesday afternoon. First-year head head coach Eleri Earnshaw and the Blackbirds will play 17 regular season matches this fall, beginning with the team's season opener on Friday, Aug. 18 at New Hampshire.

The UNH match will be the first of a season-long five road matches LIU will play to open the season. The Blackbirds will remain in the upper Northeast to face Maine (Aug. 20) before returning to New York to take on Iona College a week later on Aug. 27. The first matches of September will conclude the road trip as the Blackbirds take on Jacksonville (Sept. 1) and North Florida (Sept. 3) in the Sunshine State.

Upon its return, LIU will kick off a season-long four-game slate in Brooklyn with its home opener against Siena on Sept. 8. Matches against Manhattan (Sept. 10), Hartford (Sept. 14) and Binghamton (Sept. 17) round out the first set of games at LIU Field.

After the Blackbirds' homestand, Northeast Conference (NEC) play will commence with a pair of road matches at Mount St. Mary's (Sept. 29) and Wagner (Oct. 1). LIU's next two conference contests will be home games against Fairleigh Dickinson on Oct. 8 and Robert Morris on Oct. 13, with the FDU match serving as Alumni Day.

LIU will finish the regular season by alternating between road and home for its final four matches: at Sacred Heart (Oct. 15), home against Bryant (Oct. 20), at Central Connecticut (Oct. 27) and home against Saint Francis for Senior Day (Oct. 29).

Northeast Conference Tournament play is scheduled to begin on Friday, Nov. 3 at a campus location to be determined by regular season play.
