BROOKLYN, N.Y. – 13 members of the LIU Brooklyn field hockey program were honored by the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) this week, as they were named to the 2016-17 MAAC Academic Honor Roll it was announced last week.
A total of 2,273 student-athletes were honored for academic achievements. To be eligible for the MAAC Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 or higher on a 4.0 scale. The Honor Roll is open to both full-time and associate members in the MAAC. All 24 sports that the conference sponsors are represented.
Lauren Alburg, Haley Ballard, Casey Carrigan, Madi Cook, Olivia Dennis, Molly Jannell, Kennedy Johnson, Brianne Lynch, Magni Mata, Brooke McGinley, Skai Sprenkle, Lydia Trout, and Gillian Vallaster all earned the honors this year.
The LIU Brooklyn field hockey team opens the 2017 season Friday, August 25 at Lehigh.
