PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – For the second time in three days, the LIU Brooklyn field hockey team had a strong showing, as the Blackbirds dropped a 1-0 decision on the road against La Salle.
 
The Explorers would score early in the game, netting the game's only goal just after the 11-minute mark. The Blackbirds were able to hold the home team off for the rest of the contest, however, and fell by just one goal.
 
LIU's defense and goalie Molly Jannell faced 24 shots and 16 corners throughout the course of the game. Jannell would make nine saves in the game, including eight in the second half.
 
Eveline Gielisse, Skai Sprenkle and Adena Gordon all had shots on goal for the Blackbirds in the loss.
 
Up next, the Blackbirds head to Saint Louis, Missouri, for two games in three days. LIU will take on Saint Louis on August 30^th, before facing off with Colgate in a neutral site game, September 1.
