BROOKLYN, N.Y. --- The LIU Brooklyn women's soccer team will complete its season-opening five-game road trip this weekend with a pair of matches against Jacksonville University and the University of North Florida. The Blackbirds will face Jacksonville on Friday, September 1 at 5:30 p.m. and North Florida on Sunday, September 3 at Noon.
LAST TIME OUT
LIU lost a close 2-1 match to Iona College on Sunday afternoon in New Rochelle. In the game, redshirt senior
Jenn Peters moved into sole possession of sixth place on the Blackbird women's soccer career goals list with a second half score that tied the game at 1-1 before Iona netted the game-winner in overtime. Peters's goal was the first of the year for LIU and gave her 17 in her career, breaking a tie with former teammate
Madison Gomez for sixth place in the LIU record books.
SCOUTING JACKSONVILLE AND NORTH FLORIDA
This weekend's games will mark LIU's first meetings with Jacksonville and North Florida. JU enters the weekend with a 1-2 record after losing its second straight match against UNC Asheville on Sunday. Senior Joelle D'Entremont leads the Dolphins with four points (2 goals) while sophomore goalkeeper Micaela Mackay has started every minute of the team's three games (279:53) while making 12 saves and posting a 1.61 GAA.
North Florida is currently 3-1 on the year and will face FIU on Friday before taking on the Blackbirds. UNF defeated Winthrop on the road on Sunday to claim its third straight victory. Ospreys freshman Thais Reiss has scored a team leading two goals and redshirt freshman Rhiannon Conelley has started all four UNF games in goal (1.23 GAA, 12 saves, 365:44).

After the Florida trip, LIU will begin a four-game home stand, beginning on Friday, September 8 at 6 p.m. against Siena.
