Women's Soccer | Sep 11 | Allmann Named NEC Defensive Player of the Week BROOKLYN, N.Y. --- Junior goalkeeper Aline Allmann has been named this week's Northeast Conference (NEC) Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week, the league announced Monday afternoon. The accolade is the first ever for Allmann from the NEC and the first of the season for the Blackbirds. Allmann was selected after registering a full time shutout in LIU's 1-0 victory over Manhattan on Sunday. Many of Allmann's nine saves - her second highest total of the year - came against intense pressure from close range, making her performance even more impressive. Allmann's leading effort helped the team earn its first win of the year and give new head coach Eleri Earnshaw her first career coaching victory. LIU returns to action at home on Thursday, September 14 with a 4 p.m. matchup against Hartford at LIU Field. Players Mentioned Bio Aline Allmann #30 GK 5' 6" Jr.
