Men's Track & Field | Jan 08 | Track Competes At Wagner Invite To Open 2018 Story Links Results STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. --- Over the weekend, the LIU Brooklyn track and field teams continued their indoor season with their first competitive action of 2018, the Wagner College Invitational at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex. The Blackbirds excelled in both 4x400 relays as the LIU men went 1-2 in the event and the LIU women finished 2-3. Sophomore Kwesi Henderson and juniors Deshawne Bunion, Caleb Williams, & Logan Jones took first place in the men's race with a new Northeast Conference leading time of 3:17.12 while freshman Justin Brown, junior Braylon Wilkerson, sophomore Beresford Sweeney, & freshman Alban Lefeuvre were right behind with a mark of 3:17.49. Freshman Tara Hernandez, fellow first-year Toni Glatz, and juniors Shantae McDonald & Zaahira Deboise ran a 3:59.40 that gives LIU the third-best time in the conference while freshmen Myriah Williams and Ashley Blackwell, along with juniors Michala Webster & Deja Johnson were a half-second slower with a time of 3:59.90. Sophomore Angeli Andre gave the Blackbird women a victory by taking first place in the high jump. Her leap of 5-5.00 (1.65m) currently sits tied for first on the NEC performance list. Lefeuvre added a quality individual performance to his relay contribution by placing fourth in the 400 meters after running a 50.35 - the second fastest time in the league so far.
