BROOKLYN, N.Y.— LIU Brooklyn field hockey freshman Eva van Wakeren was named MAAC Rookie of the Week after posting her second career hat trick this past weekend. The rookie picked up her third weekly honor of the season with her standout performance. 

van Wakeren had a stellar night this past Friday against Sacred Heart, posting three scores including a successful penalty stroke in the second half for the hat trick. She moved into fourth in the MAAC with 24 points on the season and third in goals with 11 with her standout performance.

LIU closes out the 2018 season on Thursday, October 25 at 4:00 p.m. with a MAAC contest against Fairfield.
